One of the biggest challenges for travelers when booking a new hotel often is the old adage of seeing is believing. Whether you book online or call the hotel direct, you usually are guided by descriptions of the types of rooms that are available.
You will find that there a different rate types, such as corporate, AAA or weekends, but often there are additional price differences for the type of view, bedding type and other factors.

These prices are set on the basis of selling as many rooms as possible each night and to achieve the highest possible rate for each individual room. In my view there is nothing wrong with that principal, however as a consumer you should realize that not all rooms are created equal.

When you arrive at the hotel and the room doesn’t meet your expectation of the description initially given; or your expectation period – say so! Go back to the desk and ask to be moved to another room. Remember – you are paying for the room and that room is your sanctuary for your stay.
